Spotify Discovery Mode is a Spotify for Artists tool that algorithmically promotes selected tracks to more listeners. As a SOOLY Music distribution partner, access to this feature is available.

How Discovery Mode Works

Selected tracks are prioritized in Spotify's personalized listening contexts:

  • Spotify Radio
  • Autoplay
  • Spotify Mixes (Daily, Artist, Mood, Decade, Genre)

A 30% commission applies to streams generated in these contexts. All other streams remain commission-free.

Cost Model

Discovery Mode requires no upfront payment. Instead, a 30% commission is taken from master recording royalties for streams in Discovery Mode contexts. If your track is played from a regular playlist, you keep 100% of the revenue.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Track must have been on Spotify for at least 30 days
  • Must meet Spotify monetization criteria
  • Must be distributed through a supported distributor (including SOOLY Music)
  • Must have at least 20 streams in Discovery Mode contexts in the last 28 days

How to Create a Campaign

  1. Log in at artists.spotify.com
  2. Go to Campaigns → Discovery Mode
  3. Set up a campaign for the relevant month
  4. Select tracks to include
  5. Submit — campaign goes live on the 1st of the month
